As an ABKC judge, I totally support the classic class. It is the foundation of our beloved breed we have today "The American Bully". The ABKC would not offer a classic class if it was not willing to put up a classic for BOB (Best Of Breed). I think the fancirers would have a harder time then the judges or the ABKC. I have shown and breed both styles of dogs and would love to see more classic style dogs in the ring. I am a firm believer that every dog has his day. I also feel a lot of fancier (owners) are confused as to what class your dog belongs in. But the blaim is not yours alone ,judges are also learning proper placement of matching dogs to there proper class. Alot of fanciers are not showing there dogs because they feel as if it is for standard bullies only, "WRONG" then they go to the show and see only 4 classics and say, "see they are not winning Best of ? when the 4 are truly not the best representation of the classic dog. The same applies to the XL and Xtreme class, lack of dogs in the ring. I encourage all judges to take it to the next level and truly put your knowledge and skills to the test and search out those super dogs that rep. there class whether it be classic or extreme. Handlers & Onwers you also need to step up to the plate and get your game on point. You need to take ownership of your dogs and seek out what judges are looking for and what best fits your dog. Don't depend on the judge to feed you hand to mouth, know where your dog fits best and stick to it. When you go to the shows and see those hand full that have there dogs on piont It wasn't by accident, it was because of a little work and research ,so don't be hating. I personally challenge both judges and fanciers to step up and shine, bring your best game like as if you were coming to the world olympics of kennels for a gold metal. Dress to represent yourself well and show with confidence that your hard work is about to pay off. "And may the Best Bully Win!
